Good quality Nice compact pack but still holds quite a bit. Pockets nice on sides for water or bug spray or Bear spray in Alaska where we use them.

Never thought it would last this long. I am a tour guide, our tours include hiking, caving and body-rafting(floating downstream with a life vest in shallow water). I bought this bag 1 year 6 months ago approx. I love it, For all the abuse it has taken it has held up great. I usually carry a 10L dry-bag inside with a first aid kit(for emergencies that haven't happened yet ...phew) as well as a 50ft rope, and my lunch and extra lamps all inside the main compartment. On a regular day hike the pack get submerged, dropped to the ground, floats with me while body-rafting all in approx 3-4 hour trek through and alongside the river. It has never gotten wet inside until I take out my lunch because by then I am soaking wet and by the side of the river; still only becomes mildly damp. Also at eh end of the day I use it to store my wet gear so the car can stay dry and it works fine. I absolutely approve this bag, especially for a single person day pack. Recommendation: If you are carrying things for others, like I have done in some of these tours, I would recommend the 30L pack or an even bigger pack depending on your hiking preferences. I will get a bigger pack soon from AquaQuest.

In December I was on a mission to find a waterproof, light backpack for my trip to Antarctica and this backpack was my choice. It served me very well during numerous excursions from the ship to the continent. Weather in Antarctica changes rapidly from sunny sky to rain, sleet and snow. This backpack protected my camera equipment and carried my hiking poles in addition to a number of other items I needed on land. I highly recommend it to anyone enjoying the outdoors in a wet, rainy and snowy environment!!!

Great buy! We bought this bag in November for the unpredictable weather in Costa Rica. We continue to use this backpack regularly at home in Northern CA. Great buy!

Waterproof and a great product This is the first time I've purchased a higher end backpack and a waterproof one at that. This works great - stores my computer without getting wet, and we have had some torrential downpours here this summer. I'm not having the same issues with the upper strap that a previous review posted. It does sit high, but not neck high on me. If you secure the lower straps to your midsection and cinch them snugly, then the top straps should sit right atop your chest. My only criticism so far is that the instructions do not explicitly tell you how to secure the top to make it waterproof. It's fairly intuitive - cinch, fold and clip, just like a camping dry bag - but it would have been nice to see a diagram that first time around. It works great for hiking and cycling. Though I haven't had this product long enough to comment about it's life and how well it handles typical wear and tear, it looks like a well made product. I'll be sure to provide an update if anything does happen.
