Every stitch was perfect not a loose one anywhere Why did I wait soooooo damn long to buy...? I will tell you why haha...:) Ye see Im cheap and expect quality for my money as we all should right? Well after looking at nylon tarps for approx 2 yrs most of which cost more than this one all seemed way over priced ranging from $80 - $150 & I was not going to spend money for a "Brand Name" over priced nylon tarp that would not hold up. I searched YouTube & came across BeardedBurtons used and abused gear video series where he showed the Auqa Quest Defender Tarp - all I can say is I was sold right there!!! After receiving & opening the box I could not believe I actually got my moneys worth - you can feel the quality with every touch. Every stitch was perfect not a loose one anywhere. All the tie outs are reinforced as well... A shelter should be first in anyones kit. it's not something you should skimp on it can mean life or death in reality so if your looking for a high end tarp that will do what its suppose to do year after year.... THEN.... BUY an Aqua Quest Defender Tarp you wont regret!!!

but for my use it is perfect! Loops are well sewn and all stitching looks ... Tarp is well made and appears it will be durable for the long haul. Not an ultra light tarp for backpacking or a minimalist , but for my use it is perfect! Loops are well sewn and all stitching looks great, it goes up quick and will keep you very dry and protected if you know how to construct a decent shelter. Enjoy the outdoors!!

I used bungee cords to secure it to tent stakes and hiking poles to make a tent like shelter. I am satisfied with it I bought this in place of an army poncho which apparently you cannot get anymore. I assume it is waterproof although I was not rained on during my campout with it. I used bungee cords to secure it to tent stakes and hiking poles to make a tent like shelter. I am satisfied with it. The 10ft by 10ft size makes it a bit heavier than the army poncho. There was easily room for 2 people and their packs under this when set up. I especially liked the loops around the perimeter. The main back of this shelter has a piece of webbing sewn into it for added strength. Overall I would recommend it for backpacking.

He was very satisfied with it Gave as gift to my husband. He immediately took it on a week long hunting trip for his only shelter. He was very satisfied with it. It should be noted that there is an ultra light version of this type for those who count ounces. This is our second Aqua quest product. Great quality

As waterproof as they come! Top quality and they don't come any more waterproof than this. Multiple, reinforced tie down points along the edges and center seam allowing many configurations when putting this tarp up. My first experience with it was an overnight solo camping trip in the Cascade mountains in November. Rained off and on all night and into the next morning. Tarp performed beautifully and I stayed comfortably dry underneath in my hammock. It's not the lightest tarp but I didn't buy it for it's weight.

best tarp money can buy ! great product ...great customer service ....I love this tarp, very sturdy very durable, its been said that its heavy for backpackers ...it is ! but I always take it with me in my backpacking trips for using it as a tarp tent ...I'de rather to sacrifice some other gear and shed some weight in order to have this tarp with me in my backpacking trips due to its high quality and reliability . can't say enough good thing about this product...just buy it ... you'll not regret it ! ok,this is an update ...I've used this tarp for exactly ten 2 day trips and its AMAZINGLY stood up all the use and abuse ....awesome tarp awesome !

Heavy duty waterproof tarp shelter Finally got the tarp out into the woods of the Mt. Hood national forest down to the Jefferson wilderness area. Strung up two hammocks under the Aqua Quest Defender tarp without issue in a modified A frame setup over a ridge line, rained all day and night and day and night and thankfully this tarp performed exactly as I would expect. Completely dry underneath. At 3.5lbs this will be my primary ground dwelling shelter during the summer and fall months unless the bugs are out of control. Love the lightweight storage bag as it includes space for paracord and dyneema line. The water beaded off the tarp nicely when folding and allowed for quick storage in the pouch to move along the trail in the AM. Lastly, once home I opened it up and it only took a couple hours for the water to dry with no residual musty smell I get from some of the silnylon tarps. Thanks for making such a bomber tarp

Defender Camo 3x3m tarp Used for setting up a shelter by the fire both as a wind break and to protect from snow falling from tree limbs above. Despite the minus 10 degree weather, the tarp performed admirably. Get some msr groundhog stakes as the supplied stakes, while possibly adequate in soft to medium soils, are worthless in frozen ground. Did not deduct any stars for the stakes as the review is really about the tarp which is great and well worth the money.
