works great I've taken this hiking through all sorts of conditions to keep my camera gear nice and dry and it works like a charm. I also have dropped it into the lake fully immersed and not a drop of water inside. I love it. Plus it's camo so i look super hardcore. Also, I would suggest storing it open because if you don't it smells funny because there's no oxygen getting to the inside and it holds in all the smells of the place you were last at. Or, in my case, the smell of your gym clothes you last had in there. And it was gross. But that was my fault. Don't blame the bag, it did nothing wrong.

Talk About Perfect. I have used the Himal a few times. What the market images do not show you is how awesomely this bag fits into a simple hand held article. The material is top notch, water proof, light weight but durable. This is a much lighter bag then the others I have experience with and because of this it is perfect to hike with. I fit all my essentials in the bag cavity easily. The wide opening will accommodate even large items. The Himal is equipped with comfortable straps and two sets of support straps both on the chest and waist. The front pocket is also a great feature with a decent amount of storage space. I plan to use this during hunting season this year( I got the camo) because this bag is so versatile and light weight. Aqua Quest never ceases to amaze me. I highly recommend this brand.

Loved this backpack for my trip to Niagara Falls. I bought it to keep my possessions dry while on the tourist boat rides and walking under the falls. With the extra layer of ponchos provided for the different tourist attractions, not one item got wet. On one of my hiking trips I was caught in a nonstop torrential downpour. The main backpack compartments stayed completely dry. The small zippered pocket on the outside did get a bit wet inside. I highly recommend this truly waterproof backpack. I should also mention the extreme comfort of this backpack. Great shoulder straps, waist and chest straps. I would say this is best suited as a day pack. It's not structured, more of a loose deep interior.

I ordered this backpack to replace an older, heavy one. It's great!! Light as a feather and the waterproofing keeps out the snow and rain. I like the straps too-very comfortable and the waistband strap is great for carrying heavier loads. It holds a lot of stuff as well, with a handy smaller pouch to keep things you need quick access to. Best of all, it folds up into a very small pouch for storage.

Great Light/Portable Waterproof Backpack! Took this bag on a trip to Central America -- very glad to have had it! Bag 'fit in' well in Central America; was not flashy or expensive-looking and did not garner too much attention. Once objects are placed in the bag and sealed, the bag looks slightly different than the pictures on the product page -- it doesn't look all puffed out like a cloud but looks more like a regular backpack. Strictly based on the appearance of the bag, it didn't look like it would have held up well.. However, it did and I was very glad! Unlike the other dry-bag from Aqua-Quest that I have (Mariner 10L), the thickness of the bag is significantly thinner. Upon receipt, I was afraid that the bag would tear quickly but this did not happen (yet). Had no problem with the backpack straps -- was initially worried about these as well. The ability for the backpack to fold itself into the pouch was a great feature; I will probably take this along as an extra bag on my trips in the event I purchase too many souvenirs. Although a large portion of my trip was in/on water, this bag was not placed in or submerged under water so I cannot attest to it being 'waterproof'. However, from looking at my other dry bags (e.g., Aqua-Quest Mariner, Sea to Summit eVent Compression Dry Sack), I assume it would have kept my belongings dry if submerged briefly underwater. I can say that this bag did get rained on and had some water splashed on it -- our belongings were not impacted and remained dry. When flying back home, I purchased some goods that needed to be checked-in. After switching items into different bags, I decided to use this bag as our check-in bag. Upon receipt, bag/straps remained intact except for a zipper-handle on the front-pouch that disappeared. Goods remained intact. Items I kept inside the bag included: clothes, toiletries, small camera equipment, and a book. If you expect to be in a situation where your backpack will be submerged underwater for a significant amount of time, I would look elsewhere. However, if your primary concern is rainfall and the rare chance that your backpack does fall in the water for a brief amount of time, this backpack should meet your requirements. Notes: - Front pouch is not waterproof - I suggest not putting any valuables in the front pouch if you will be trekking through territories with high theft rates
