Well made, great product. This is a very well made Tarp, it has lots of guy points and corner pockets to slide a pole or sticks into so there are multiple was this can be set up for a shelter. I would recommend this Tarp to anyone for a Backbacking shelter or for Car camping. I wish they would make a square version. Great product.

It is well made and water rolls off it like the back of a duck My tarp kit arrived right on time. It is well made and water rolls off it like the back of a duck! The tensioning straps work great to get it tight. It packs up into a nice tight roll that fits well in the top compression straps of my pack. Lots of room for two people under this tarp!

I recently used the Defender King Tarp on an 8 day kayaking trip in the Allagash Wilderness, Maine. It's far more durable than the previous tarps I've used and it's smaller and lighter to boot! During the trip we experienced near hurricane wind and rain for over 24 hours. The Defender King held up like a champ. I look forward to using it for many years to come. Great Tarp!

The big brother to an awesome tarp You seriously cannot go wrong with this tarp. I have the smaller version as well in the camo and I love it. Very durable even when left out for days on end in high wind and rain. The reinforced corners are great and offer many versatile options when setting up. You can even use poles because they have pockets in the corners. I was pleased to see that there are so many lashing points and they are sewn well and won't come loose. 100% waterproof at least in my experience. No drips from the seams etc as I find in some of my other tarps. I would purchase this again but I doubt I will ever have to. The only con is weight, if you are worried about the weight go with the smaller version but either one is a A+.

Good Product Pretty Heavy, but if you have the room, it's good quality.

  6. 5 out of 5

Huge oversized high quality tarp that can shelter 3-4 people easily. Kept the wet snow at bay in lieu of a tent.

Best tarp money can buy. Very impressive quality, fit and finish on this tarp. Heavy duty but can be extremely compact for its size. Only disappointment is it should have a few more tie downs in the correct spots. Plenty of tie downs on the 10 foot sides as well as the ridgeline but the long sides need a few more tie downs. Hopefully I can find some kind of clip tie down option.

Excellent Tarp!! As one other reviewer has stated, the ONLY improvement that I would recommend is to have ridge line run the length of the tarp rather than the width, OR better yet, a ridge line running each way. Other than that, this thing is bombproof. I can't say enough good about it. The first time I took it out was for a weekend trip which just happened to coincide with some pretty rough weather. Used this tarp as a rain fly for my hammock. Completely dry. It is easy to configure this tarp to keep you bone dry in a hammock and still hang low enough to get a breeze. Is is so huge that we had three grown men and 10 year old boy (nearly as big as a grown man) sitting comfortably under half of the tent.. with room to spare all the way around. If you set this tent up between to trees in an A-Frame and kept it as wide as you could get it (Shallow rather than deep angles on the two halves), you could easily fit 8-10 people in lawn chairs and still be far enough from the sides that no one should get wet unless the wind was blowing the rain quite hard. Not for those for whom weight is a major factor when it comes to purchasing gear, but worth every ounce in bombproof wet weather gear.

Great Tarp Heavy duty tarp. Will definitely keep you dry and with so much room to spare. Bigger than most people may need but it sure helps for something like a base camp or when you need plenty of dry space in camp. Plenty of tie outs.Highly recommended.

I love this tarp because I can cover my hammock & ... This tarp is HEAVY! Ok, now that's out of the way. I do ATV adventures, & I love this tarp because I can cover my hammock & have enough space to keep the quad dry if need be. This tarp is absolutely huge, & bullet proof. I'm going to do a 3 day canoe trip & I'm bringing this as my primary shelter. I have total confidence this tarp will never fail me.
